Lapis Lazuli - Afghanistan
This material is "AA" grade Lapis Lazuli from the mountains of northern Afghanistan - the source of the finest Lapis in the world. These pieces are the vivid blue for which Lapis Lazuli has been prized since ancient times. We currently have pieces ranging in size from 4+ ounces to nearly 8 ounces. These pieces are suitable for carving, making cabochons, inlay, or intarsia.
Pieces > 100 grams and < 225 grams:	$0.30 per g (approx. $8.50/oz.)
NOTE: If you want smaller or lower grade pieces of this material, please inquire!
We also have some "AA" grade pieces that weigh more than a pound. These wonderful pieces are perfect for carving. Alternatively, you could simply keep one intact as a specimen/decorator piece. Of course, you could also slab these or use them for any other lapidary purpose - but it would seem a shame to cut these down to small stones. The two rows of photos above are of two of the available large pieces.

Charoite - Russia
Charoite is a beautiful ornamental rock found only in Russia. We have available a small amount of "B" grade charoite (pictured above) in the 100 g to 200 g size range. This lower grade charoite is both less expensive and easier to work with than higher grade pieces, so these pieces make perfect practice rough for anyone that has not previously cut charoite. These pieces, while certainly not as stunning as top-quality charoite, are still usable for inlay, intarsia, cabochons, or small carvings.
"B" grade pieces < 200 grams:	$0.05 per g (approx. $1.40/oz.)
We also have an impressive 18 pound block of "A" grade charoite (not pictured above). This piece is ideal for carving or tiling. We have not yet taken an image of it because it is too big for our normal photography set-up! However, if requested, we will obtain an image for a prospective buyer. (Serious inquiries only, please!) Please note that the weight is approximate, as we have no way of obtaining ultra-precise weights on something this massive.

Christmas Stone - Norway
Christmas Stone is an attractive ornamental rock consisting primarily of red garnet in green peridotite. We currently have slabs available in the 125 g to 250 g size range. These are suitable for inlay, intarsia, or making cabochons.
Slabs > 125 grams and < 250 grams:	$0.06 per g (approx. $1.70/oz.)
